If you can break yourself up into two persons, one who acts and is closely connected to the market emotionally etc and the other an observer , you'll make a fortune. If you don't go nuts before hand. The observer knows that you have to stay long the market because the other one is an emotional wreck.
But if you don't have part of you hooked into the market, you will not be an emotional barometer. Some people go long and stay long and never pay any attention. They do OK, but not great. But they do better than those who are completely hooked in emotionally and don't have the "observer" standing there watching over the nervous nellie.
Pretty strange post, right? That's for sure. I have never mastered this split of my stock market person. But , I am still somewhat sane. Anyway, it is a very tough game. |

But now the first leg up out of the correction is correcting itself. Could be the end of the bull or the start of a new leg up in the bull market to new highs. I'm betting on the start of a run up through $2000. |

Thanks to Henri on the Elliot Wave thread, his TA thoughts on GLD and GDX. GDX is coming off a three year low. Mining costs are rising, but the ratio of GLD / GDX is historically very low. Big resources of gold in the ground has market value, if the bull market in gold is sustainable.
With gold near long term highs and gold miners near long term lows, you have to wonder, which one is right. |
