B&G foods Opened the bell to the NYSE today. They had their iconic Green Giant character on a banner. I'm a big fan of food packaging. Companies are doing a much better job than they used to. I personally like using the microwavable pouches for frozen food products like pre-made meals & vegetables.

|I agree more so when it comes to US companies involving European Takeovers of scale. Next European companies involving US Takeovers of scale, and just in general takeovers or mergers of scale. AmBev /Sab Miller comes to mind. IMO Their most likely will be divestment's for the takeover to clear. IMO This whole thing could also fall apart before the approval process can complete. DD/DOW has still not been completed. |
P.S. IMO The risk arbs are generally good at pricing in a good spread for the risks involved.

|Sold 1/2 of AXTI and redeployed - Added JVA today on weakness. Seems traders were disappointed with earnings of twelve cents. Maybe more so with the sales loss. I wasn't. RE- Smart&Final and Wal-Mart partnerships. This considering the PR with Mr. Gordon saying, We look forward to these results in upcoming quarters. |
FWIW-RE- Smart&Final and $WMT Wal-Mart partnerships = sales volume. I'm betting margins will be much better at the new retail outlets than the sales loss at GMCR/ Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. This based on the big sales loss and increasing profit margins.
