Just maybe a new growth channel for SLGD? Brand revival is needed. Prell once a iconic P&G brand. I didn't see the word accretive yet. That would be a plus.

Scott's Liquid Gold acquires Prell, Denorex and Zincon beauty brands
July 7, 2016 | By Gina Acosta

DENVER -- Scott’s Liquid Gold-Inc. announced its acquisition Thursday of the Prell, Denorex and Zincon brands of hair and scalp care products from Ultimark Products, Inc. for a purchase price of approximately $9.1 million.

“We are excited about our acquisition of these brands. Prell, Denorex and Zincon products will be great additions to our existing health and beauty care portfolio of products,” said Mark Goldstein, chairman, president and CEO of SLGD. “This investment represents an important strategic opportunity that will benefit our shareholders, consumers, customers, and employees.”

Scott’s Liquid Gold-Inc. develops, manufactures, markets and sells household and skin and hair care products. The company’s most well-recognized product, Scott’s Liquid Gold wood cleaner and preservative, has been sold in the United States for over 60 years. The company’s skin care products consist of Alpha Skin Care products and Neoteric Diabetic healing cream. In addition, the company is the exclusive distributor in the United States of Montagne Jeunesse/7th Heaven face masque and skin care sachets and the exclusive distributor in the specialty retailer channel in the United States of Batiste dry shampoo.

Despite a venerable brand name and a 52-year history, Prell had less than $10 million in sales in 1998.

Sold LWAY today for a nice profit for re-deployment elsewhere. Danone made a big move. IMO a less likely target by them now. Still sticking with STKL. They need a bigger parent. They never have had good solid direction. They have had bad luck with recalls. They now are looking for a buyer. Investment banker hired. Time will tell if there's a possible interested buyer. IMO If no interest. It languishes in low 4s till profit improvement warrants.

IMO This Infineon deal should up the speculative of AXTI. Plus CREE will have money to spend now on something that is more core.

IMO This Infineon/Wolfspeed deal also ups the speculative appeal of VSH.

I'm back from South Carolina today. Sold some LIFO BRKS > 13 for a nice gain in SC. New addition today on this down day TDC Teradata 29.47. I liked that earnings were better than expected. Just maybe things are bottoming out. The Cloud Space has been a RED HOT area of late. RE- Saleforce is an aggressive willing acquirer today - Quip. Oracle/Netsuite-They might be done. However I don't think IBM/SAP/HPC/MSFT are. TDC also did some undisclosed amount of acquiring. Added unprofitable Hortonworks /HDP to my watch-list.

P.S. I wouldn't be surprised to see an upgrade soon on TDC by analysts. IMO TDC is the best value/ Bang for an acquirers buck in this timely cloud space.

CTG. Small add here to my few shares. Not going to be a profitable year for the company, mgmt says. Maybe next year will be better for company & stock.
