Emerson Electric numbers cut at Citigroup. Shares of EMR now seen reaching $56, according to Citigroup. Estimates also lowered on Thai flood, destocking, and pockets of lower demand. Buy rating. Emerson Electric target lowered at Goldman Sachs. Shares of EMR now seen reaching $51, Goldman Sachs said. Facing incremental demand weakness. Buy rating.

Years ago. Has been off my radar screen. At glance now, at its current stock price, it's too expensive for me for a buy as a value stock.

I didn't realize EMR had a presence that might be substantial in the off-shore o&g business:

Stock price imo is now low enough too to where I'll take a few tracking shares again. Will add if/as stock continues to fall on no adverse news.

Feb 7 (Reuters) - Emerson Electric Co reported a 20.5 percent rise in quarterly profit, helped by higher sales in its commercial and residential solutions business, which makes ignition systems for furnaces and air conditioning compressors.

The company's earnings from continuing operations rose to $370 million, or 56 cents per share, in the first quarter ended Dec. 31 from $307 million, or 46 cents per share, a year earlier. ( http://bit.ly/2khitXI)

Net sales fell 3.6 percent to $3.22 billion.
