PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The largest electricity company in Poland has awarded a $95 million automation contract to Emerson Process Management, an Emerson (NYSE:EMR) business. Polska Grupa Energetyczna selected Emerson to provide technology and services to modernize six generating units at its Belchatow Power station, which is the largest thermal power plant in Europe.

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Westinghouse Electric Company has awarded Emerson Process Management, an Emerson (NYSE:EMR) business, contracts totaling approximately US$17 million to supply its Ovation™ expert control technology at four new Westinghouse AP1000™ nuclear reactors in China. The award continues a long relationship between the two companies, with the Ovation control system or its predecessors already installed at most existing Westinghouse nuclear reactors.

The new reactors will help China cleanly, efficiently, and safely generate additional baseload electricity to meet the country’s needs, which are growing at more than 8 percent per year, according to the World Nuclear Association.

Emerson Partners With Sanmina-SCI To Build Solar Power Inverters For Canadian Market

Emerson’s reliable, highly flexible inverters convert DC power from photovoltaic arrays into AC power that can be placed directly on the electric grid. The Emerson grid-tie inverters to be built by Sanmina-SCI are designed for utility and large-scale commercial uses. Production of the inverters will begin this year and may also serve solar energy projects throughout North and South America.

Years ago. Has been off my radar screen. At glance now, at its current stock price, it's too expensive for me for a buy as a value stock.
