" So what exactly are you arguing for - consistency? "

I'm not arguing for anything John.I detest this farking " war " and think it could have been either avoided or at least handled in a more acceptable manner. But that's all water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned.

What I AM concerned with is the repercussions of this action for years and maybe decades to come,as I made quite clear for this past year here.

Is The Bush Regime : The Axis - Of - UP-Heaval?

Maybe.

Good luck with it anyway.

All the more reason the UN should make sure the IRC gets to see the American soldiers held by the Iraqi's.....

Are any of our soldiers who have been captured still alive?

What is a UN? Surely you don't mean that hopeless and helpless old and now nearly defunct org that still has 3 drink lunches in NYC. One bier, one beaujolais and one vodka.

I do not know if any of our POWs are alive. I do know that some were captured alive, killed and mutilated.

1 out of 30 isn't bad.
Assuming your knowledge of the line item associated with the 25 billion tax cut and the closed facilities makes sense.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln....

Arnett teaching the world about propaganda: Arnett, on NBC's "Today" show on Monday, said he was sorry for his statement but added "I said over the weekend what we all know about the war."

Quote: What we ALL KNOW????

What is that, Peter Arnett?? WHAT do we ALL know?

Did he mean: "Iraq is good, Saddam is good, the UN is a dithering idiot group, the US is bad...????"

Is that what Arnett meant?

Wonder how much Peter Arnett got paid for that interview? By Iraq????

The National Geographic just let him go as well as NBC.
Good for NG and NBC.

Hello Jacob,
Please listen exactly to what the Bush Administration says.
They are saying what they mean with full knowledge of their words' impact.

Thye don't have a tin ear.
They have no ear to anything except
their own Rock and Roll.

THink back.
How many times can you recall reading something the Administration said and thinking "They can't mean that."
Only later do we see.
They meant exactly that.

We need to get ahead of their thinking
instead of wasting time waiting for retractions.

KLP,

Arnett did us a favor. He went so far over the line there will be a backlash - the media will not want to 'pull a Arnett' - and coverage will become a little more reasonable.

Pendulums swing both ways.

Paul

Several senior war planners complained to me in interviews

Come on, John. You are letting your dislike of this admin overload your good sense. As I posted the other day, the senior Princes in the Pentagon are using the normal "friction" of war to try to take down Rummy. These guys idea of "Combat" is leaks from behind their Pentagon Desk.

Rummy is trying to change the Army's outlook and personnel policies. The Army does not want them changed. They were able to "Rain Dance" Clinton's Sec Def, but they can't get away with it with Rummy.

Bush trusts Rummy, not the Generals.

My guess is that most Americans feel like Canada is "nearly family". Therefore, the disappointment is evident.

Quebec is viewed considerably differently than the rest of Canada, and I think most Americans recognize that.

However, must say your Opposition Leader was on TV last night, and looks good. <g>
