Michael: Weren't all of the people from the Democrat's side supposed to join in for some sort of prayer, invocation, or dedication of support? Maybe 4 years of bickering will be replaced with 4 years of solitude. Fine with me. Beyond that, the Democrats are sure to hurt their election outlook for 2008 if they do not trying to act outside of the election process to influence polling results.

Think kerry will do the right thing. This is not 2000 where it was 500 votes in Florida. And bushes pop vote lead is large and it is a clear majority--first time since 88. mike

Larry Sabato is one of the best talking heads out there. Of course, bashing the exit pollers, at this point, is liking shooting fish in a barrell. They really screwed up.

I want to make sure that Jochen is supported on this. Germany has been a good ally, and Schroeder did get some trouble for Afghanistan. The only disagreement was Iraq, and it was not Schroeder who was so intent on making a lesson of it, it was Chirac.

Kerry would have already done the right thing. He will pursue whatever legal options are open to him in order to hijack more votes. That being said, I don't think the process will be as divicisive as it was in Florida since Bush has an overall majority and a 140,000 lead in Ohio. Mr. Market is not going to sell off for 6 weeks waiting some visibility on the matter.

Putin showed a keen insight into what an important element of this election. I was stunned at his lucidity, frankly.

He has done the right thing so far. He had to be certain that he could not possibly catch bush in ohio. What if the lead shrunk overnite and there were 500k provisional ballots? He needed to do that for his voters. Now it is clear and kerry will do the right thing. Add to that the bush popular majority will make it very clear to him. Man i hope you are wrong. mike

Not to pick at your congratulatory speech too much, but you still do not understand the term "neocon". Neocons are not, generally, faith based. They are usually academics or policy wonks, and generally either secular or religious liberals (Reform or Conservative Jews, rather than Orthodox, for example). There was a time when some of the emerging elements of the Republican Party, such as Evangelicals, were called New Conservatives, but that was never a term equivalent to neoconservative. Prominent neoconservatives are Jeane Kirkpatrick, Charles Krauthammer, William Bennet, and David Horowitz (who, unfortunately, retains bad rhetorical habits from his time in the New Left).
