Because you are wrong, and the harm he does them exceeds whatever incidental benefits they may obtain.

She did not "adduce" the bin Laden tape, she spouted some nonsense from the Washington Times, washingtontimes.com Or maybe that particular story originated in some other "objective" corner of the warblogosphere, I couldn't say.

I'm fully aware that W's faithful propagandists have been working overtime to spin bin Laden's reappearance into something positive for W, but that doesn't exactly count as "inference" until you go through the looking glass.

I think if you reread the article, you'll see that Arab liberals are not what it is talking about. Should I quote all the varying cross currents from Iran to Syria and Egypt that are in favour of Bush?

Osama bin Laden just threatened every state

Whether he threatened individual states of the United States of America, or nation-states, is perhaps open to interpretation but in my opinion your interpretation seems wildly off the mark.

He threatened "states which attack us" - while at the same time said that neither Bush nor Kerry could deliver security. Unless Bin Laden was making a veiled reference to electing Nader (why would he be that obtuse), he's really talking about nation-states.

Nation-states fits far better than the other interpretation, since nation-states (including coalition partners in Iraq, NATO forces in Afghanistan) actually have waged war against Saddam (Iraq) and Al Qaeda (Afghanistan).

You know, the election is happening as we speak. Not everything has to be turned into a contest. Why can't you give Nadine a break? Her comment was reasonable and innocent.
