The second half of Bridgerton did have a redeeming theme since it really drilled down into what young women could or couldn't do on their own in that era (almost nothing, of course). Seeing someone fight back when exposed for doing a "man's thing" was worth it.

And fun.

I enjoyed that an Queen Charlotte- the spin off. It's diverting.

We started Sweet Tooth but it's a little weird for me.

We love Patton Oswalt's game show- the 1%- because the questions are so fun!

And we enjoy The Goat- because we have NEVER watched reality TV and we enjoy watching a reality TV show that mocks reality TV while being reality TV. It's just the right amount of meta for us.

My Life is Murder- which is my daughter's favorite mystery show, is back for a 4th wonderful season. Enjoying that.

Yes, we are on the "My Life Is Murder" fan list too. It's just "Brokenwood" in the big city.

"Grace" also returns this week for a few new episodes. Strong lead in that one.

Do you know "City Homicide" from Australia? It's a decent procedural with a good cast including one from the "Dr. Blake" world.

We're catching up with the final season of 'Vikings' on Netflix. A historical soap opera with gore.
Then, as a chaser, we usually watch an episode of 'Young Sheldon'.

I've been reading 'North Woods' an unusual work of historical fiction with several threads revolving around
an old house in New England. Very good so far.

A class at NC State University has been reading my climate fiction book, 'The Hurricane Code'.
The professor has asked me to take questions from the class later in summer session.
That should be fun--I think....

I don't think I have seen that. I am going to see Blood on the Vine again- if it is still streaming, because I want to make a list of the regions and visit as many as I can.#winegoals

Sad to say, but I will pass on the latest series of "Game of Thrones - House of Dragons." I tried to start catching up last night and had zero interest in the latest contenders for the spiky chair. I'm not alone, according to reviews and comments I read.

Probably the same reason I bailed on the next to last "Mad Max" movie and never considered watching the latest. It's just the same set of visuals dragged across the screen one more time.

Another strong Aussie series is the political drama "Total Control" about a woman PM who appoints an Aborigine senator from a small town for appearances, then of course discovers she has put someone very independent into the job. On Acorn APV.

I have just loved most of the Australian and NZ series I've seen.

The 1988 film "White Mischief" bears a strong resemblance to "Indian Summers" on many levels and holds up well as a re-watch more than three decades later. If you like colonial indulgence and angst plus lots of steamy flesh, it's a good one. On APV.
