From: Jhana | 6/29/2024 10:22:55 AM | | | | Catching up on new PBS shows - the return of "DI Ray" was welcome with a tense plot line of cops and crime families. Best part was the police brass trying to pretend they hadn't treated Ray like crap in the previous season.
Disappointed that "Grantchester" wasted a whole episode saying goodbye to Will. He came in as the cool guy on the motorcycle to replace the maudlin drunk there before, but he left as a worse whining puddle. Hope the new guy is sharper.
Professor T is what it is. I file it away with Sister Boniface and the other comedy mysteries. Very watchable. |

Seeing someone fight back when exposed for doing a "man's thing" was worth it.
And fun. |

We started Sweet Tooth but it's a little weird for me.
We love Patton Oswalt's game show- the 1%- because the questions are so fun!
And we enjoy The Goat- because we have NEVER watched reality TV and we enjoy watching a reality TV show that mocks reality TV while being reality TV. It's just the right amount of meta for us.
My Life is Murder- which is my daughter's favorite mystery show, is back for a 4th wonderful season. Enjoying that. |

"Grace" also returns this week for a few new episodes. Strong lead in that one.
Do you know "City Homicide" from Australia? It's a decent procedural with a good cast including one from the "Dr. Blake" world. |

From: Ron | 6/29/2024 3:21:58 PM | | | | We're catching up with the final season of 'Vikings' on Netflix. A historical soap opera with gore. Then, as a chaser, we usually watch an episode of 'Young Sheldon'.
I've been reading 'North Woods' an unusual work of historical fiction with several threads revolving around an old house in New England. Very good so far.

A class at NC State University has been reading my climate fiction book, 'The Hurricane Code'. The professor has asked me to take questions from the class later in summer session. That should be fun--I think.... |

From: Jhana | 7/1/2024 5:29:29 PM | | | | Sad to say, but I will pass on the latest series of "Game of Thrones - House of Dragons." I tried to start catching up last night and had zero interest in the latest contenders for the spiky chair. I'm not alone, according to reviews and comments I read.
Probably the same reason I bailed on the next to last "Mad Max" movie and never considered watching the latest. It's just the same set of visuals dragged across the screen one more time. |

From: Jhana | 7/2/2024 4:52:09 PM | | | | Another strong Aussie series is the political drama "Total Control" about a woman PM who appoints an Aborigine senator from a small town for appearances, then of course discovers she has put someone very independent into the job. On Acorn APV. |
