Thanks for the empathy.

I was bagdering bulls all day on the Yahoo
DIMD group. Bulls get real defensive when you
tell them that a correction is due.

I am new to these groups and find that longs cherish
their illusions and defend them inspite of anything.
The discussions don't tend to be very objective.
I am accustom to the newsgroup techy groups. They seem
to be more open minded and less attached.

What's a good rule of thumb for choosing a bottom after
a correction. I was thinking using a 7 day MA with a postive slope to to time my cover?.

Open comments?

Also any pointers to previous posts about scanning for shorts.
My current criteria is how many days in a row a stock was rising. Then averaging how far the price is away from a 20 MA for the last 4 days it was increasing.

Any mailing lists posting potential short?

If not send me some ideas. I currently scan 11,000 symbols a day. I can post the top N results if there is interest.

It seems logical to me that corrections are easier to pick off than timing potential longs. I haven't proven this yet. Any comments from
experience out there.

Bruce how did you do? I got lucky up 2.5% on the shorts
and still holding. However, I did go long on Ckfr today.
Ckfr had some serious profit taking for inter-day
traders. Another possible short is fibr but to early
yet. Lots of bears eyeing over fibr lemmings.
