Wow, you know a thread is dead when no posts after earnings. Good overall numbers with the only downside I see is shrinking margins. Any thoughts?

If ya don't own it, ya better be buying it cause it won't be here long.

PS Be careful how ya sell it because it could go higher than you think. Look at MVSN

Jeff or others:

Agree on the pleasant surprise with earnings and was wondering if anyone knows if AATT is the only supplier of the cooling casing for the PentiumII processor? If not, who else comprises the competition?
Regarding margins, is it possible they have a contract that discounts
units to Intel as the volume purchased goes up? Any thoughts?

Well, well...Just taking a quick look at the chart tells me that today was record volume @ 518,400 shares, nice pop as well. Interesting theory on margin regarding PII, maybe one of these days I'll get off my lazy duff and give IR a call.

Dave:

Thanks for the follow-up, did you pull that off a 10Q or personal contact?

Nice run today, sold 1/3 of my position Monday at 32 in case it decided to pull back and take back some of its gains.

Unloaded at 33 1/2 for a nice profit. Believe the TA is showing a drop to about the 26-28 range and then another run. IMHO

So be it, I'll be there buying more as I now have some cash to trade in and out. I followed it on the Quote.com java site for 20 minute delayed trading and it really petered out in the last hour. Hoping their new clip on device is well received!
Good luck too!

My read of the TA is a bit different from yours; I see fairly strong support at about the 31 level. This also represents a pullback of about 1/3 of the recent runup. So, I didn't sell.........

By the way, the February 2 issue of Electronic News had an article about the recent Nationsbank Montgomery Tech conference; in it, a Montgomery analyst named Douglas Lee stated that he likes Aavid. Let's hope Montgomery is pushing it to their clients!

I'm a Montgomery client. They've been behind Aavid since the single digits and currently have a 45 target. The volume on this decline is kinda spooky. Perhaps its 144 selling...I hope.
