That's fair. See now, the person I heard this from made it sound like a more substantial personal position. That, of course, seems completely incongruous with Gore's environmental position. Goes to show how jaded one gets with the whole thing. Gore could fly around in an Oxy Pete Grumman jet, and I'd still be voting for him over George W. -JCJ

the problem is that the doj case gives msft an excuse for their poor performance, where they would not otherwise have one. i think msft is headed in the direction it's headed, not because of the doj, but because of a number of other reasons - reasons which the starry-eyed msft longs cannot fathom. silverberg once said that msft's was the 'most profitable business which is legal.' well i think that was an historical anomaly and now we're 'reverting to the norm,' whatever that ends up being. i still think that, for whatever reason the clinton administration has it in for gates and co. andy

Probably you are correct about the clinton admin having it in for Gates and Co. Gore is a wild card. His daughter worked for Slate which is owned by MSFT. But then, Slate is incredibly liberal...
