Had a real good week here. Traded each day, 2 or 3 stocks plus SPX.

Keep working at being awesome. Nothing like setting high goals. <G>
There is quite a difference in attitude between those who go to work at their jobs and those who constantly strive to be the best they can in their careers. The "job" mentality wants to know how much is necessary to be deemed "enough". They aren't the ones that end up running the company (though they are quick to chime in on how things should be better). The career mindset, on the other hand, includes a total commitment to being the best one can be. The career folks are the ones who risk having morning coffee on your deck.
The funny thing (in my experience) is that neither type truly understands the other.
Have I mentioned this book to you? If you're into leisure reading (in all of your spare time<G>), this one is right up your alley, I bet.

Let's give thanks for all of our blessings. My best to you and yours.

Another story along those lines that comes to mind is one day when I was working with one of the newer folks on a case. I guess that I had been pretty nit-picky and it was wearing on the guy. The person was standing in my door way and said, sort of jokingly, something like, "Do you have to have excellence everyday?"
I said, "As a matter of fact, I do." Then I pulled off a little yellow stick on note from my computer monitor on the side that only I can see and showed it to him. It read, "Seek excellence everyday."
We both smiled.
Now that guys is still with us today. In fact, he's been designated to take over a lot of the special work I do once I'm gone.

To: RR who wrote (59840) | 11/27/2003 9:35:50 AM | From: RR | | | Happy Thanksgiving, my Friends. What a great little neighborhood in cyberland, this Porch. Great folks.
I hope everyone can enjoy the holiday and reflect on how much we do have to be thankful for. Yep, we have bad days and, yep, sometimes we think it's not going our way. But, in the grand scheme of things, I think everyone on the Porch is blessed.
Think of those overseas fighting. Think of those less fortunate. Go visit a childrens hospital some day. That will be dose of reality when you get to feeling sorry for yourself.
It doesn't take long to really realize how good we've got it. It's not about money. Like I've said before, some of the richest people I know don't have a dime.
Happy Thanksgiving!

To: RR who wrote (59841) | 11/27/2003 10:44:46 AM | From: RR | | | China has been mentioned on here a few times the past several weeks. Jill and I were talking about it and I mentioned that I'm in PTR and TDF.
In the past few days, I've added to both of those positions in PTR and TDF, especially TDF.
Tried to add to the PTR options, March 30's, but couldn't get a nibble.
FYI and FWIW for those China bugs.
