I am holding HPOW until the investment community figures out how undervalued this stock is in the teens. There is huge potential for residentual fuel cells. And not far off in the future either.

"...But the real story is the firm’s recent deal to sell residential fuel cells to the more than 900 US rural energy cooperatives. This is expected to generate revenues in the $81 million range by FY’02 (5/31). Additional contracts for rural residential systems are expected from firms in Canada. Consequently, the company’s opportunities for growth are considerable and it has the potential to reach the $100 million mark in 3 years. "

Ballard BLDP has sales of 38M, 8 BILLION market cap, trades in the $90 range.
Plug Power PLUG has sales of only 12M, 1.7 BILLION market cap, trades in the $40 range.

HPOW existing deal with the rural cooperatives is worth 40M per year and that does not even count other deals that they may develop. The ipo money is being used to build a large factory and this company is going to EASILY surpass BLDP and PLUG. The stock is a give away right and we will wonder why we didn't see it when it should have been so obvious.

I can't make it any clearer...

I've read such arguments -- really, a stock story -- as you recite, but the prospectus points out that other than a few New Jersey highway signs HPOW hasn't made a single sale in its entire corporate life. Furthermore, the residential fuel cell deal is wrapped in a number of "maybes" from the company's ability to produce an acceptable product (the prospectus says they haven't yet gone beyond a prototype) to timing, which as I recall could slip as much as five years. Have you seen the prototype fuel cell yourself? Know anything about HPOW's manufacturing or marketing capabilities?

I love the bare bones story, just wish I could see some meat.

Have not seen the unit myself, but have a good friend who has seen HPOW and PLUG and says that the HPOW unit is much better... can not tell you how...but I trust him.

Looks like some others liked HPOW today.

I added to my position at 17 1/16 today, when it popped above $18 this morning i thought we'd never see 17 again. Lucky for me - should be an interesting week. Curious why this issue hasn't popped in QPeriod they way ACPW has...great sector going into the fall. Looking for 'buys' next week and PR/contracts etc.
