AMD has always been able to lower their price to improve the price/performance ratio. That's hardly something to be proud about because they had to in order to sell their product. The problem has been that they had trouble making money in the process. Will that change? We'll see.

In this case AMD "lowered" their unit price to $1k and will make a very nice, effortless profit on each... No yield issues on these dice whatsoever.

How do you know this?

It's been widely reported, but I'm sure you'll take issue...

Ex: overclock3d.net

According to this, 80% of Ryzen dice could theoretically be used to build epyc and threadripper chips, far greater than necessary. How do intel's bigger, monolithic dice yield, i wonder?

It's all based on a single rumor which I consider essentially impossible but believe whatever you want.

Doubling down at $9.90 was a bold move.

I just bought back my 10% at $15.23. They will probably push it lower, but want to be all-in for Ryzen 3, Threadripper, and Vega over the next few days.

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. is now covered by analysts at Robert W. Baird. They set an "outperform" rating and a $20.00 price target on the stock.

Something is in the air at AMD... Let the speculation begin.

Raja Koduri, AMD’s Radeon Tech Group Leader, Resigns
November 7, 2017 6:00 PM EST

anandtech.com

On the day following what’s perhaps one of the greatest (and oddest) product design wins for AMD’s Radeon Technologies Group, a second bit of surprising news is coming out of AMD. Raja Koduri, the Senior VP and Chief Architect of the group, who has been its leader since the RTG was formed two years ago, has announced that he is resigning from the company, effective tomorrow.
