SB:

What is your take on the earnings report? Looks pretty solid to me, .33 vs. consensus of .31.

Not Bad! But I'm worried that the proposed follow-on public offering will be viewed negatively by the Street especially with the recent volitility. I'm not certain but I believe that Gull Industries (which is offering 85% of the insider shares being sold) is associated with the company's old CEO. Does anyone else have any more info on Gull Industries relationship with AVTC.

I'd also like to learn more about the new facsimile company that AVTC announced it was acquiring today. Is it expected to be immediately accretive to earnings?

DD: report was great, better than expected. However, with the news coming on the heels of a nearterm dissaster overseas, the news was just enough to cause some to get out. The smart people noted the report and will be buying when the dust is settled. Unfortunately, the stock stalled causing some to think the report was not good enough. They call that psychological exgersion; (if it is not going up, it must be bad) I take full advantage of times like this; taking all the great earnings reports and making notes so I can start buying when all this is over.

Yikes! AVTC down 5% more than the market. I hope that this will nix any plans the company and Gull Industries have to sell more shares in that secondary public offering they announced.

Lots of people hurting today!

Any thoughts on the weakness in the last few days following the push of AVTC to 27?

Probably concern with the recently announced secondary public offering. Today's weakness was just a lack of buyers in the market. The trading volume in the stock was low indicating to me that liquidity in the stock is drying up somewhat. Look for increaded trading activity after the offering is complete. Until then we'll probably drift lower. Omtool, which competes directly against AVTC in the fax routing software business, has recently fallen back a little after its successful IPO in August(?). I expect the two will track each other pretty well over the next year.

Company fundamentals remain strong although Lucent Technologies recently released a new fax server product which may or may not be positive for the company and the rest of the industry.

Anybody have any news?!? The stock soared today on average to good volume. Either there are no sellers and some desparate buyers at this level or some smaller firm managed to get some information we haven't seen. It wil be interesting to see if this upward trend continues tomorrow. If it does I'd say if could be one of the big guys is moving into the stock prior to issuing an upgrade.

Over 410,000 shares today! Up $2 1/8. Anyone have any news?
With estimated 1998 earnings at $1.95, using a conservative multiple
of 20, I get a projected year end price of $39. A more realistic multiple for the type of growth this company has shown might be 26, which gives me a projected year end price of $50.70.
Just my opinion of course.
