Hi,

Anyone has any thoughts about MUD-RPG. Sony has Everquest, its competitors are Ultima, and Aheron's Call.

How much interest is there in immersive games like this, and are there small public game companies that try to do this well?

Right now, games in N.A. are mostly variants of doom/quake or C&C. Is this all there is? Is there nothing more?

Does anyone have details about the xbox (preferably with reliable sources)?
Eg :
cpu-type (probably K7)
cpu-speed (?)
system memory (?)
dvd player (?)
graphics chip(s) (?)

It's been kinda quiet around here lately. The market hasn't been very kind to these stocks in recent weeks. The horrid earnings by acclaim didn't help the situation. With mwy announcing tomorow (?), thdo next wednesday and atvi the following week, hopefully the announcements will be "good" enough to get these stocks moving back upward (especially hoping for a good showing from thdo).

I'm not sure when the others announce but thq and erts could really help get things moving with some solid earnings announcements.

A post from yahoo says next week for erts.
THQ is announcing year end (I think) so we probably won't see that until mid or late feb.

I hope THDO comes in with good numbers. I'm ready to dump it for greener pastures.

Also, don't forget GIG. I think it will report stellar Q3 earnings in the first week of February - mainly because of its Mad Catz success with GB (Pokemon) and with the Sega Dreamcast.

Don't forget the 800 lb gorilla, ERTS, on Tuesday after close. They should have announced a split way back when. Man has that stock taken a beating.

And what a gorilla!

As you say it has taken a pounding and has brought other companies down with it - notably THQI. It was probably overbought in the first place as institutions who didn't trust their own judgment in the interactive entertainment industry thought that it was safer to buy the biggest. But is it the best? I suppose most people think that it can handle the adjustments to 128 bit consoles seamlessly but I have a sneaking feeling that they may find the odd ripple that could upset their business plan a little bit.

There were some strong NRs recently such as the release of THDO's first GB color product and the launching of the '3DO Pipeline' Internet service. Also ING Barings rated it as a strong buy last Thursday which may have stimulated investor interest.

It is encouraging to see THDO making its move in the calendar Q1 - usually dog days in years gone past. I believe that it has some way to go yet.

Prof. and thread:

Anyone been tracking GTIS's meteoric rise? This stock actually hit 5 1/4 at one point today!

I'm no believer, but the volume is pretty heavy for just retail buying. Any ideas?
