Here is some real interesting information about PERL from a person who knows what is
going on on the inside. From Yahoo.

PERL'S NEW TECHNOLOGY

Dear fellow PERL longs-do not let the shorts scare you. They obviously do not know
anything about PERL, Linux or computer technology for that matter. I have been using and
programming computers since the early seventies.

I just got this rumor from a friend working in PERL's R&D department. PERL is
supposedly working on a new, novel type of wireless connectivity technology working with
Linux as the OS. My friend told me that he thinks PERL may have signed a deal with IBM,
which is planning to enter the Palm form factor computing market with a new Palm PC
based on their proven IBM S/390 CMOS and AS/400 technology, running Linux.

My friend told me that PERL will possibly be developing the
wireless, 622Mb/s ATM link for this new IBM Palm PDA system.

Do you know what this means, you clueless shorts qakeup2000i" and "nordique5"? This
wireless ATM link by PERL will be the world's first and finest, and takes advantage of
quantum-mechanical phenomena, anti-matter technology and new silicon-on-insulator (SOI)
chip technologies. When IBM is out with its new IBM S/390 and IBM AS/400 compatible
Palm PCs, everybody will be wanting one, and PERL will be the only supplier of remote
wireless connectivity for these devices running Linux.

The trading range for Friday is correct. A lot of traders were closing their positions for the weekend so that they would be flat on the stock over the weekend. It might bounce on Monday morning.

Desperating seeking the next "Hot Linux Stock" (HLS) long term relationship prefered~~~~~

IMHO the evaluation of "Hot Linux Stocks should be evaluating the trend between open-source programming and closed or copyrighted programming.

Is there a new trend developing similar to software development in 1990, World Wide Web 1995, E-Commerce 1998, Linux 2002?

The focus of one operating system verses another operating system is still limited to that particular operating system such as Linux or to Java applets. Either way a company is selling boxes of DOS software or boxes of Linux software or Java applets, each operating system has it's advantages and limitations.

A much broader vision in a commercial sense, is to be able to host, develop, manage all the operating source codes and facilitate collaboration of all the operating systems for truly open development This is an emerging trend. This was one of the founding visions of the World Wide Web. To create, develop and transmit data in an open community.

Not to say source programming should be free. I have been thinking about open source programming generating fees for services, licensing fees and royalties, verses revenues from product sales only.

Another trend with major corporations is the total-cost-of-ownership issue associated with licensing and deploying and maintaining major pieces of "off the shelf software". The cost of 10,000 software licenses adds up quickly.

If UPS can gain a competitive edge over Federal Express via paying for customized programming services rather than purchasing off the shelf software, will they, of course.

I am not suggesting that open source programming will replace MSFT software on the World's desktop. IMO the move away from *boxes of software* towards custom software will happen within big to medium sized corporations. Look at the second tier players on this list, IBM SUNW CPQ MOT CPQ

lwn.net

then look at the value of YHOO AMZN and EBAY that was created by a corporate knowledge and operating systems. YHOO AMZN and EBAY must stay up to the minute in their technology, or C ya later. If that means "Linux technolgy will they go Linux, of course. If the competition gains an advantage with open source programming will pay for customized programming services, of course.

Open source programming is a major trend in the "Linux Craze" that needs to be considered at this stage of the Linux Craze.

IMO this Linux craze is broader than one operating code verse another operating code.

have a good weekend!

Disclaimer: this is story only -- no fact whatsoever

If you know the history of ZITL, you know that they change their business by whatever is "hot" at the moment. It is sad that the market can run up a stock like this based on a $49.00 software program that won't make ZITL hardly any money. The company, IMO, is worth about .50 cents. That is where is was headed before the crooked stock players grabbed it and began their internet campaign to sucker the public once again. I don't claim to know what will happen short-term, but I feel real comfortable predicting that ZITL will eventually be a penny stock for good.

I remain,

SOROS

ps this is all my opinion only, but I feel somewhat qualified since I took part in the hyping of ZITL's Y2K crapola when I owned the stock

pps I guess that makes this post just sour grapes because I didn't own it this time around, but if I had it, I would be selling it quickly before it returns to it's eventual resting place of .50 -- this run is nothing but short covering. Stocks that get shorted this much may have some up short squeezes, but even this market will return companies to their true value

ppps there are some legit small stocks that DO have legit LINUX ties (NSO, for example) -- IMO, ZITL is about as LINUX as McDonald's

pppps this is all just an old man's ramblings -- buy ZITL and get rich -- someone will be laughing all the way to THEIR bank

ppppps kidding aside -- research ZITL -- be very careful -- this is example of what I speak:
