Check out executioner.com there is an example there of what they call "the ultimate" pc set-up for traders. It is put together by some vendor, Sam's computers--I think they call it. But I would go with Dell or Gateway when it came time to buy, because they offer good tech support and are known as the best. And yes, speed matters!

Here are some links for you.

Dual monitors need a second video card.
My advice go with dual 17" or 19's
check with stores that have experience in this.
also buy good equipment rather than cheapest. JMO
here is a few links for you to check out.
hope this is helpful to you.

best regards,

bigbuk

Check this thread:

Subject 18946

Do some word searches, eg. dream; multi-monitor; bargain; network;

or browse through the old post-headings.

ZeusPaul also has a web-site that is an auxilliary to the
thread:

home.att.net

Happy hunting,
wily

First you don't need 2 computers. You can as the others said use 2 monitors on one computer. And yes level II screens are in my opinion the best live feed. I take it your not familiar with trading through a real nasdaq level II exchange? If you have used something like e-trade in the past then this does not compare at all. Most of the level II places use Townsends real tick for there software which has charting software in it. The best thing to do is start out slow and read as much as you can on this. If your not familiar with the different ECN's and how to read a level II screen you might get bitten pretty hard. And use the cable modem access if thats what you have.

Kosmo,
Here are the things to look for:
Speed, Memory, Reliability and ability to display as much information as you can comprehend. You do not need two computers. One will be enough. You also do not need two video cards for dual monitors. One Pentium II or III computer with enough memory and one specialty video card, running four 19" monitors is the way to go. Cable, xDSL, ISDN modems are the best for the money, depending on what is avialable in your area. Go to "The A Group" web site -
theagroup.net
Electronic trading solutions is their speciality. They were founded and run by a Daytrader and that is a great plus, when you are in need of support.

Hi all. I am buying a new workstation, and need some help. It will
be a Trading workstation only and I want it to be the best and most
Hi-tech I can buy. I will use up to 4 18" flat screeens(maybe 3 to
start with) so I need the best card to support it. I need input on this
and any links to ideal systems.

This looks interesting,http://www.ttrc.com/computers/f5.html but
aside from the neat monitor setup and black casing, I am not sure it
is the best system. I am sure I can upgraded it as I please...

I would like some opinions to a SCSI system and the best internals
to put into it. Are the new motherboards now ready for the fastest
P3 733MHZ Chips sets using RDRAM.

What is the fastest P3 XEON avail(is there a XWEON
"Coppermine" avail yet..?,

Should I just go with the best Dell has to offer...?
Precision is it. (Is everything sodered so I can't replace and
upgrade..?
commerce.us.dell.com.
Is Dual Processors necessary or advised for this app...??

I think HP offer a financial computer.
hp.com

I have three flatscreens in Mind:

A IBM 18"
commerce.www.ibm.com.
(is digital the way to go(I think it needs a different card..hpe there
is a maker MATROX,
Appalichienhttp://www.ttrc.com/appian_menu.html that suports Up
to 4 flat screens that are digital) or should I just go analog..??? Re
these Appalichaen cards the best I can buy that will support all of
this ..?

EIZO 18" eizo.com

Sony's new Multiscan CPD-L181

Basically HELP!!!
Remember this is a Ultimate Trade Station ONY and will be
feeding either Frame Relay or DSL or both. It cannot crash so NT
is a must. What is this new MS 2000 product...?

Any help or PM's would be greatly appreciate. I have to put this
together like NOW and pay for it before 1/1/99 for tax purposes. I
would really appreciate the help.

$Mogul
