Peter,
I assure you, I neither own the stock or am short the stock.
Let's face it. It's not like we are here just to run our mouth and make up DLJ problems and are spreading vicious rumors. The problems are a fact and effect everyone. The system was down, period. If you don't trade everyday, several times a day, you may not experience some of the occasional daily glitches. I do agree that the problems are probably temporary and will eventually be fixed. But that does not help us now.
As to the long wait on the phone, it should not happen. I rarely call, but even on days without any problems, no exceptional busy market, I had to wait 30 minutes or more. I get some very nice Investor Service person who apologizes for the long wait and that they are in the process of increasing staff. That was a long time ago. Something has to give here. DLJ needs to listen to their customers.
How can anyone trade or invest under these conditions. It did not used to be this way.
Renate

The other day DIR showed up on TC2000 as a potential buy.
Money flowing into stock, BOP showing strength etc. As part of my DD I came to this thread to see other opinions. When I saw how bad you all think the service is I decided not to invest in this company. Stock went down nearly a point today. Thank you all for your enlightening discussions of how badly this company runs their business. Maybe as people move to other brokers and their stock plumets they will begin to care. I think waiting 45 minutes to talk to a human absurd. Glad I invested elsewhere.

I was told by IR and a manger of Select Client services that they are changing quote providers and that the service will be better in a week or so.

It has'nt worked better than the last 2 days in a long time.

My response:

Dear DLJDirect: I am STILL getting THE REQUESTED PAGE IS UNAVAILABLE, PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER.

This is on the portfolio holdings page, balances AND MOST IMPORTANTLY the TRADING window. This is NOT fixed, and is totally unacceptable. Please take some of the millions of $ of our commissions and UPGRADE the system so it can handle what is NOW not unusual but AVERAGE volume. Thank you.
