Rob, I don't own DLJ. When I had problems yesterday, I went looking for info. This was as good a place as any. I also have been with DLJ forever, longer than you have. There have been problems for some time now, yesterday just was the worst. I also basically like DLJ, but that does not mean I should be happy if I cannot place trades, either lose money or lose the opportunity to make money. It really does not matter why they have problems, the end result is the same. You obviously don't trade much and have not lost any money because of those problems or you would talk very differently. Placing an order by phone is out of the question for trading, I waited 50 minutes yesterday to talk to someone, Trade Talk was down too. I do understand that all on-line firms have their problems now and then, but this has gone on for too long. I had problems this morning again. The least DLJ can do is explain to their customers what the problem is and apologize. Thank you for the tip to place limit orders. <g> Why should I not be able to change my order? I often change my sell order to a higher price when the stock is moving well. And why not cancel? It is necessary sometimes. I wish you luck with your investments. Renate |

It is just unreal to me that one has to wait on the phome for 45- 1hr... this is from my own experience and is just downright inexcuseable.
I really hopw someone is listing to help us all here because this is really tragic. |

DLJ is the worst online broker out there. You'd think with the high commissions they charge that they would be able to maintain an online trading system that works some of the time. My account has not been updated for 4 days now. They have cost me thousands the last few days. I could chizel an order on a stone tablet faster than they could handle it.
No more, account closed. |

I think the problems stated here are from people that may be short the stock or with isolated instances. <<<They have been having their problems.I spoke to my bother and my best friend they are all experencing the same problems as discussed here. Oh yes, my current balance on my account, is quoting from 3/10. l also shorted and covered qcom today and it didnt reflect the trade. Thank god I have the e-mail order. To say this is isolated is naive. I am neither long or short this stock. How about you? |

I am not long or short the stock - just FURIOUS at the fact I have been unable to trade most of today, yesterday and the end of last week. This is awful. I'm pulling all of my accounts, and in the process now. If I could only liquidate so I could transfer it might help. No web access and an hour wait on the phone... |

Peter, I assure you, I neither own the stock or am short the stock. Let's face it. It's not like we are here just to run our mouth and make up DLJ problems and are spreading vicious rumors. The problems are a fact and effect everyone. The system was down, period. If you don't trade everyday, several times a day, you may not experience some of the occasional daily glitches. I do agree that the problems are probably temporary and will eventually be fixed. But that does not help us now. As to the long wait on the phone, it should not happen. I rarely call, but even on days without any problems, no exceptional busy market, I had to wait 30 minutes or more. I get some very nice Investor Service person who apologizes for the long wait and that they are in the process of increasing staff. That was a long time ago. Something has to give here. DLJ needs to listen to their customers. How can anyone trade or invest under these conditions. It did not used to be this way. Renate |
