Market Pulse: Verizon inks programming deal with Gemstar, HDNet

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Verizon Communications Inc. after Thursday's closing bell said it has signed programming distribution agreements with Gemstar-TV Guide's TV Guide Channel and TVG Network, as well as HDNet, for its new FiOS TV service. Terms of the agreements weren't disclosed. Verizon FiOS TV will carry the TV Guide Channel and TVG Network, a live interactive horseracing network. The deal with HDNet includes HDNet Movies, which will provide commercial-free full-length movies. HDNet broadcasts all of its programming in high definition.
