Anyone here adding to their position in OCLR now?

The way I see it: WJCO was willing to pay about $18 in stock. With the termination, OCLR's $25M gives OCLR roughly another $1 sh (before any taxes)on the balance sheet. With OCLR's stock at about 13 5/8, maybe OCLR is worth $19? Given the consolidation in the industry and OCLR's niche in it, is the future still bright for OCLR?

Paul Senior,
Seeking information/opinions. I have no position in this stock.

Yep, been trading OCLR for the last year. Seems like nobody cares about the Earnings or "last independent C/L business" position. Well, except other C/L companies. Their lenses are pretty popular with OD's as they are not out doing naughty things like SOME C/L companies ( like selling through mail order). I bought mine when the fire sale was on at the 11's and let go when it had nowhere to go but down. I am back nibbling in the 12-13 range, it is still a good munch candidate but patience is required and leading the market can be tricky with this one. Not paying more than 13 though.

Okay, RWR, I've started nibbling on OCLR in 12 range also.

OCLR requires some degree of patience. If it went to the doghouse 8-10 range again I'd still keep it and load up as before. The value has been established as at least 17 by the previous W-J bid. Sooner or later it will get taken out. Meanwhile earnings should put a floor on it.

Broke through 12 today into the 11's. Still holding my 12's and plan to buy more here in the bargain basement.

RWR, I'm considering starting a position in OCLR now. Do you (or anyone else here) have a current opinion on OCLR that you can share?

OCLR is an easy buy for me.

P/E is about 6 trailing. It's 5 if you look at 2001 expected earnings. Steady growth year to year, most recent quarter up 20% or so. Market cap is 250MM, not expensive. This would be an easy one to pick up since it is anti-dilutive. We know it's worth at least 18 since WJ was willing to pay that and I think that's still too cheap. But the WJ deal validates the basics and was only called off as WJ got munched while munching. Food chain. Amazing. Last of the independent CL companies, going for a song.

The wife is an OD and she loves the OCLR lenses which make up the bulk of her fittings.

Problem is not much noise in this, so don't expect a pop until it gets bought. Eventually some dip go-go analyst will stumble across it when (s)he types in the wrong ticker and crow about their great discovery.

We should start a lottery to see who buys this. My guess would be one of the frame makers, who are flush with cash and have bought a LOT dumber things in the past.

As always, omo. Do your own DD-this one is easy to find the numbers and recent history.

Appreciate your OCLR opinion, RWR. Thanks. (I've taken a small, exploratory position.)

RWR, thanks again for your posts on OCLR. I've decided to take my 50% profits and exit my small position. While I don't doubt that OCLR might be worth more than the current price, I've just lost my nerve with this one. Nothing related to the stock or company -- just my lack of confidence. That's a byproduct of having a VERY diversified portfolio and as result, not intimately knowing enough aspects of OCLR, the company or its industry.

Appreciate your sharing your opinion on OCLR last year. Thanks again.
