I suppose they are all following the Berkshire Hathaway model. The danger here is that someone like Icahn can come and corner all the stocks since it is held in the hands of a select few.

That's from Yahoo. A 1:6 reverse split.

PCLN as a market cap of close to $60 billion. There is not much that Ichan (or anyone else for that matter) can do to influence the company. Ichan only thinks that he has the ability to influence Apple.

Maybe the folks at Yahoo consider their left hand to be their right hand. No wonder they now have to rely on the fortunes of Alibaba instead of their own.

They do it right. The left side number is the shares you have after, and the right side number is the shares you had before the split.

With a (forward) split of 2:1 you have 2 shares after, with 6:1 you have 6 shares after. With a 1:6 reverse split, you have 6 before and 1 after.

If you're using an online dictionary, click reverse split and Define on iPad or Look Up on OS X.

Maybe I have it reversed. I am sure I do not have "lateral inversion" when it comes to left and right. However, I do blank out under pressure of work where I am at and take breaks between writing code.

Thanks for the clarification
