OK, so given the original purpose of this thread was to find prey before the predators got it . . . Who are the expected munchees after Biogen has a major clinical failure and has to flesh out the pipeline? With BIIB down in excess of 25% not all biotechs in the neuro space are down. SRPT, NBIX, and SAGE are up noticeably. perhaps there are others not on my radar. Anyone still here to throw out ideas aside from the above?

Cheers, Tuck

FWIW, RVNC considers itself a neuro company (e.g. cervical dystonia, migraine) as well as a derm/plastic company.

Someone posted a list of M&A candidates during the JPM healthcare conference in January and I added some info and published the list to google sheets. SRPT, NBIX and SAGE are on the list, but maybe others are potential candidates as well.

Others suggest a bunch f small deals, noting BIIBI has a better record of value creation from their smaller deals. So I don't follow much in the SMID euro space, except for Minerva (NERV) and Intra-Cellular Therapies (ITCI). If they get a good readout later this year, that could potentially put them in play. There are, of course many more to choose from in the SMID range. It's just even harder to pick ones of any quality.

A research note I'm seeing says BIIB has 18 billion for M&A.

Cheers, Tuck

In an interview on CNBC, a Jefferies analyst said that Biogen ( BIIB -29.5%) may now be targeting acquisitions after its aducanumab flop. Attractive candidates include Biohaven Pharmaceutical Holding Company ( BHVN +8.2%), Neurocrine Biosciences ( NBIX +5.9%), Alder BioPharmaceuticals ( ALDR +6.2%), Sage Therapeutics ( SAGE +3.6%), ACADIA Pharmaceuticals ( ACAD +3.7%) and GW Pharmaceuticals ( GWPH +3.3%).

A Stifel analyst agreed, adding that Sarepta Therapeutics ( SRPT +2.1%) could be a target as well.

Hmm. GWPH. Could also throw in Zogenix (ZGNX), it's undervalued (IMO) alter ego. With the IPR issue still hanging over BIIB's head, I'm in the incremental deals with smaller M&A targets camp.
