I am a trend follower..day trader.
I do not know where the bottom will be. Honest !

Today may be playable for a point to the upside.

Well true to recent form it isn't up much compared with other NAZ stocks preopen. To me it looks like DELL tried to make another peak and is now aborting the attempt.

To all: Well not really much of a rally for my favorite
PC company with the move the NASDAQ made today. However,
I did like the fact it finished near the high of the day
with somewhat higher volume than the day before. I've
owned Dell several times before and it never fails-just
when you think it will base for a few more weeks, BOOM
she explodes to the upside!! We're close folks, VERY,
VERY CLOSE!!! LETS MAKE SOME $$$!!!!

To DS: Sorry Dave, I think its time to throw in the
shorting towel. Forget about shorting this market right
now. With folks already buying in for the January Rally
the momentum is definitely UP, UP and to the MOON!!!
Don't kid yourself about Dell. Sure its been basing here
now for 3 to 4 weeks and yes all those silly analysts are
recommending CPQ. But ya know what? Michael Dell and Crew
cannot and will not be beaten. This company will surge to
their favorite 92 dollar hangout within a few weeks. Get
out and go long. Remember long on Dell = BIG $$$$.
GOOD LUCK, HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND MAY THE GREAT TRADES BE YOURS!!!

From a bigger picture it looks as though DELL has been consolidating for about 6 months now, similar to what it did at the end of 1997.
The start of 1998 was met with a DELL explosion. The start of 1997 was met with a DELL explosion. The explosion in 1996 occurred later in the year, but also after a basing period of about 6 months.
Each period of rapid growth occured when the 50dma moved close to our touched the 200dma exactly as is happening how.
If the history repeats we would see a move up to 200 (wow!) over the first six months of 1999. I can live with that.

I am a new DELL shareholder as of today. What are the opinions on todays action? Is today considered to be a technical breakout?

To Kellis: Yes Sir, you've got the idea!! Today was
a Classic technical breakout after weeks of trading
in the 60s. We're on our way up to 92!!!
