This one is a workhorse. Small & fast.

G-Technology 1TB G-DRIVE mobile SSD Durable Portable External Storage - USB-C (USB 3.1), Up to 560 MB/s - 0G06053-1, black

Why is the drive you recommended so much more expensive than Samsung, SanDisk, or Crucial?

amazon.com

Thanks so much for your help.

Sometimes, penny wise is pound foolish.

Just noticed Youtube has brought out the big guns in trying to force me to purchase the ad free side....

Always listened to videos and music, the 5 or 10 or 15 second commercials didnt really bother me. But noticed today they are running 10 and 15 minute commercials. Yes to can click "skip ad" but that doesn't help me as Im doing other things and not sitting in front of the screen whether on smartphone or PC.

Haven't tried Freetube yet....

I use YouTube Premium. Others use ad blockers, IMO that's stealing. Thats how content creators make some of their money with videos is the ads.

I use the portable version of thunderbird and since the update I have not been able to send any emails. I get this message with any email reply I try to send.

Sending of the message failed.
The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.office365.com timed out. Try again.

I checked my settings and they are correct as far as I know and I also tried a new install of a portable version using an older version for the install setting up the hotmail account as per the questions asked for the setup. All the same as my other version and still I get the same message. Even though I used an older version of the portable to install on my usb it automatically updated to the newer version some how. I even tried sending an email via my backup of Thunderbird and still the same.

Using the web I can log in just fine to Hotmail.

Any suggestions?

What do you pay for YouTube premium? ....and what is the advantage? I use YT a lot and this new policy will be difficult.

Dunno,

I was reading, on desktop, if you upgrade, you cannot revert to older version. Somehow it's a new animal and converts your data to a new format.

Tracking or money involved I imagine, I seriously doubt it's about improving the product from a customer's view...jmho

Ron, I don't mind ads and commercials, similar to your local TV and radio stations.

But if you were listening to Youtube, and the ads started running 30 minutes or more EACH, how long would you stick around? Are you seriously going to sit at your desk or watch your smartphone screen and click "skip ad" between each song?

I'll not comment further publicly concerning the giants destroying the Internet for money, power, and control.

I just did a test on my biz gmail account and it works, it's the Hotmail that is not working. I guess you get what you pay for with free. Kind of like those ads you're talking about...I consider them like porn on the internet. I have no interest so don't be shoving your ads in my face for something that I am not going to buy, need or use. Ad blockers are are help in that respect. My computer my choice! More research I guess.
