I have developed a prototype automated "Grubinator".

Following are a few statistics of interest for all you grubbers.

As of right now, there are 9 forums at SI.

In those 9 forums there are 372 subjects that have had activity within the last 180 days.

There are at least 67 subjects in those 372 subjects that have a post grub coming up within the next 30 posts in that subject. Some of those subjects have multiple grubs within those 30 posts.

For instance, within the next 30 posts, post #1215 would qualify for 1221 (palindrome), 1222 (Karen Valentine), and 1234 (sequence).

Don't just SIT THERE ... go grub a post or two !!

Meanwhile, I will continue refining the "Grubinator" to recognize more grub categories.

Sure is a pretty day.

FBN - Grubinator ...

Version 0.00001

Following is a link to the upcoming grubs in the non-stock related forums. I decided to omit the stock related forums because I didn't want to pi$$ 'em off when grubbers jump in there and monopolize their boards while they are competing for grubs. I might add the ability to select a specific forum, or combinations of forums.

Currently, the included forums are Coffee Shop, Politics, and SI.

paidbashers.com

That list is current as of this morning.

No, it's not dynamically updated. I will manually update it periodically.

What do you want for free ????

Let me know if you see any grubs that aren't included in that list so I can update the code to recognize that category or that specific number in the future.

Final decision on what constitutes a grub is left up to the Grubaholics Anonymous committee, of which I am chairman. After all, I was the originator of the term "grub" way back in '96, so I should get SOME kind of dispensation.

Sure is a pretty day.

After thinking of the Grubinomic ramifications, I am anticipating inflation in grubland. Traditional good grubs will now lose value as amateur grubbers flood the market with double zeros and pedestrian palindromes.

You are the Alan Greenspan and Ben Bernanke of grubs.

Curse you TEDennis!!!

Curse you!!!!!

(nevermind that I asked for it!!!)

Double zeros ????

No way.

The MINIMUM length of a qualifying grub is 3 digits, and those are for especially significant numbers, like 222.

TRIPLE zeros, aka: millennium grubs, are AT LEAST four digits, and are legal.

Now, since you're concerned about my sharing the list ...

I will accept bribes.

I could provide a subset of the easy grubs online (for free) so the rookie grubbers can compete with the pros and actually feel like they're accomplishing something when they snag a grub.

Then, for a reasonable fee I could provide the really GOOD grub opportunities via private communications.

These darned retirement expenses keep building, you know.

BTW, the first use of the term "grub" was in June of '98, not '96. Typo.

Ooops ... sorry.

Make that 1998 -- gotta' be Y2K compliant. It just wouldn't do to have one of the FBNA founders screw that up.

Sure is a pretty day.

The value of a Karen Valentine has already been diluted significantly. I demand a return to the gold standard for KV -- only pure 222's, one per thread. If you want to increase the supply of KV's, you have to back it with a new thread.

I agree.

Only one 222 per thread.

We will not cheapen the value of a clean, pure, innocent grub by bagging it once every 1,000 posts.

It's just not the same once they've been ... grubbed.
