Keith and all another good news release

July 23, 1998 The Superstar Group Launches Major Loyalty Initiative with CSI
CSI to install GT - 100 Terminals in 54 SUPERSTAR Locations

BURNABY B.C. - CSI Credit Systems International Inc. President James Christensen announced today that the Superstar Group
Ltd., a Richmond based group of sport apparel and footware companies, has chosen CSI to develop and operate a customer loyalty
system for them. The program will be operated at 54 store locations in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.

The Superstar Group will be launching two customer tracking and loyalty programs using CSI's ERNEXT system. The Superstar
Ultimate Card program will operate at Superstar, Planet Superstar, Lady Superstar, Superstar Kids, Champion Store, Adidas Store
and Nike Shop locations. The Shoes Strings Plus Club card program will operate at all Shoe String locations. ERNEX features such
as Instant Win and Electronic Gift Cards will be used in addition to the "points" based rewards program. CSI's terminals will also be
used to process credit card and Interac debit card payments at all locations.

The real-time ability of ERNEX will inform Superstar customers of their "point" totals immediately at the point of sale, by printing the
information on the customer's receipt. CSI will provide detailed reporting on participating customers purchase patterns to Superstar
management on an on-going basis. CSI derives revenue from the sale of its GT-100 terminals and the processing of loyalty
transactions.

"CSI's experience in executing card based loyalty solutions and the ease of integrating their solution into our retail operation were
big factors in choosing CSI," says Andrea Johnston, Chief Financial Officer for the Superstar Group. "ERNEX's host based flexibility
means that future program improvements will be quick and cost effective, preserving our ability to keep programs fresh for our
customers. This program is a major initiative for us and CSI has become an important partner."

"Superstar is a leader in their industry and we are very pleased to have such a high profile client participate in the ERNEX network,"
says James Christensen, President & CEO of CSI. "Superstar is a believer in the value of customer loyalty and retention."

Kevin,

Would you or anyone else on this thread comment whether CSI's system is Y2K compliant? Many companies are assuring shareholders that there wouldn't be any unpleasant surprises after the clock strikes midnight 1999.

In Canadian FP on Fri Jul 31, 98 there is news item on BOOTS Co PLC. BOOTS is UK's largest pharmacy chain and they recently launched their own membership card. The news item states "This is providing an important source of market intelligence and has substantially boosted sales". CSI can provide the same service for retailers everywhere with their terminals and software. The market is there for CSI to exploit. Retailers everywhere call CSI and learn how you can bring benefits to your company.

Kevin,

Pretty quiet on this thread. Where's everybody. Keeping your heads down now that the market is seemingly undergoing a correction?

I sent an e-mail to the newly appointed IR person asking about Y2K compliance. Had a quick response from her, which is a good sign, however, she wasn't able to answer the question.. still not up to speed yet, she said. I hope CSI will be monitoring this thread and addressing questions or concerns raised on this thread. This would demonstrate that it has a progressive IR program.

In the meantime, I observed International Verifact in their quarterly report mentioned for the first time "loyalty marketing" as a service IVC offers. Have not been able to confirm what exactly is the IVC's loyalty system, but I doubt it would be similar to Ernex.

About the Y2K problem, I spoke to the CEO James Christensen a few months ago and asked him the same question. He assured me that it was not going to be an issue since all the software is relatively new.

During this quarter, CSI enjoyed continuing success in expanding the adoption of
ERNEX, as the technology leader for real time customer loyalty solutions by:
certifying CSI's GT-100 by First Data Corporation is completed. Certification

- Family Golf Chooses CSI'S Ernex(tm) Service
- CSI's First Customer Loyalty Program In U.S

CSI Credit Systems International Inc. ("CSI") announces the launch of CSI's first ERNEX(tm) program in the United States with Family Golf Centers, Inc.("Family Golf") of New York.
Family Golf will initially install 12 pilot locations with the ERNEX service in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. An expected rollout to all Family Golf locations will occur after the successful completion of the three-month pilot. Any golfer will have the opportunity to become a member of the "Family Golf Rewards Club" for a small fee. Membership has been designed to offer golfers both immediate and long-term rewards. ERNEX will enable the real-time fulfillment of this program by pushing messages out to the customer alerting them when they are eligible for their benefits.
These benefits can either be redeemed immediately or the next time they visit any Family Golf location. ERNEX will track purchases made by product category and will send up-to-the-minute point balances, which will be printed on the member's receipt.
Family Golf will operate the ERNEX service on CSI's GT-100 transaction terminal. CSI will derive revenue through the rental of GT-100 terminals, transaction fees and management of the Family Golf Rewards Program. Family Golf owns and operates 116 golf centers, including 21 Golden Bear Golf Centers licensed from Jack Nicklaus' licensing company, Golden Bear International. The centers are devoted to offering a variety of high quality golfing experiences to every member of the family, regardless of age or skill level. Each of the centers in the company's expanding national network provides a selection of practice opportunities including a year-round driving range, facilities for chipping, putting, pitching and sand play, golf instruction and clinics, a miniature and/or par-3 golf course, well-equipped pro shop and snack bar.
"We are extremely excited about launching our first real-time ERNEX
customer in the United States," says James Christensen, President of CSI. "This gives CSI the opportunity to showcase the ERNEX service through-out the United States as the best in class, real-time loyalty solution."
