Touching base with you to see if you stuck w/your march 70's? I panicked with my feb 75's and sold the fri. before expiration. Adecent return but no where near the $$,$$$ return if i had held 2 more days! Just when i think i have this thing pegged - surprise! Strategy now istowait. At any rate, good luck to you cowboy fan and i'll try to keep you posted about my future moves on afs option speculation.

Hello JB, I did keep my March 70's until a couple of weeks ago and did very well. I'm curious to see how the Ford spinoff will affect AFS stock price in the short time. I appreciate your update and please keep me advised on what you're doing with AFS. I have no options on AFS as of now.
Thanks for the note! |

all: the short intrest on afs has tripled. F (ford) is in the sp 500, and the shorts claim that the index funds will dump afs, since afs is not in the sp 500. There will be downward pressure for sure. I just read this. can someone confirm the short intrest?. I got in at 70, and will average down if I have to. But expect extreme volatility. Immi |

Shorting is probably being done by people to lock in current price when Ford
spins off AFS. That way a price drop will not affect them. |

Spin-off will add $22 billion to the existing AFS float of $6-7 billion. With F sometimes considered a value driven stock and AFS earnings driven, there is that slim chance the F(value) investor will sell AFS after distribution, causing short-term downward pressure. If this happens, it will represent an enormous buying opportunity. So cowboyfan, my opinion is to keep your eyes pealed for possible short-term bargains- as they are few and far between with this issue.
It will probably take a few weeks for things to sort themselves out. Once the dust settles, all I can see is continued smooth sailing for an autonomous AFS.
