Dear Ron,

We made a major update tonight. If you could please describe what isn't working I'd appreciate this so I can fix it. Its hard to make an omelette without breaking some eggs. :(

Regards,

@Dima

Dear longz,

I've made the update that prevents base64 images from being posted as part of messages. This will fix the issue going forward. But I still have to go back and run a purge of the database, removing these older images, to improve the site performance. I have not gotten to this yet, as other issues with the update appear to be present that I must resolve.

Regards,

@Dima

Dear Thomas,

The image did upload. There appears to be a distributed file share (image directory) synchronization issue between our two webservers. One has the image, the other doesn't. I'm investigating, and hope to have this resolved soon. As is, 50% of the people who viewed your post can see the image. :)

Regards,

@Dima

Copy and pasting links from the address bar stopped working..

Edit: And I've noticed that quite a few images are failing to display..

Dear miraje,

What web browser and operating system are you using?

Part of our new code update intercepts the "paste" event in your web browser when you are pasting to the SI editor window, and re-renders the message preview after removing any base64 encoded images. It does this so that people can immediately and reasonably see what their pasted html will look like. Historically, it had been necessary to toggle between "Raw Text" mode and then back to "SI editor" (html) mode to accomplish this - to see what your message would reasonable look like. This is now automatic.

But perhaps there is an issue related to this new code and your particular web browser. So, if you could let me know what these are, I would appreciate it.

Regards,

@Dima
