Welcome! Always nice to have new users here. Take a look around, ask questions if you need to, and people here will try to help. In some ways the site is still a "work in progress" as an older investment site and a decidedly old "World Wide Web 1.0a" look here, but many features have been added since those days. A lot of great history here though, and many smart people posted here when the site first went online, including Michael Burry of "The Big Short" fame. The The History of Silicon Investor is a great thread, and is maintained mostly by SI Ron (Crazy Soup Man) here, this site's admin.

Hi. I'm new here. I followed chowder over from the SA site. I'm mainly a dividend growth investor. Retired about 1 year and planning to use divs to supplement our budget. Currently living on SS + some savings. I'm sure our income level is tiny compared to most here. As long as it is enough for us to pay the bills and maintain our current lifestyle (which is very modest), I will be happy. I am self-taught and have been buying individual stocks since 2009. I also sell cash-secured puts and covered calls on some positions. I hope to learn some new things on this site. I'm especially interested in solid dividend growth stocks and other 'safe' income ideas. Ex: I have several I-Bonds for money not needed in the next year. Thanks for adding me to the site!

You're an hour ahead of me in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, but two hours behind the Times Square festivities in New York City. The Apple dropping in the Big Apple to ring in the new year in the U.S. has traditionally been seen as the big event. Newfoundland/Labrador and Sydney, Australia might have something to say about that. :-)
