Hi JW, nice to see that you are still posting here...useful info of course...as usual. :)
Been a member of SI since 1995 or so. I came to see how AMTX investors are doing. My wife and I fondly remember AMTX. This is one of the firms that gave me the thrill of investing in a novice technology and experience the whole product adoption cycle that Geoffery Moore theorized in his book "Crossing the Chasm." The returns on investment in the firm gave my wife her bling blings :)
Hope you and your loved ones are doing fine. I remain.
[EXAS, a biotech firm has been my main feeder for over a year now. I am sure you've heard of it. FWIW]

LONG LIVE Dr John Cioffi AMTX Funny after the Sale of AMTX to Texas Instruments. AM _TX Amati TX Instruments.. it was built Into the Ticker all the Time.
John Cioffi (born November 7, 1956) is an American electrical engineer, educator and prolific inventor who has made contributions in telecommunication system theory, specifically in coding theory and information theory. Best known as "the father of DSL," Cioffi's pioneering research was instrumental in making digital subscriber line (DSL) technology practical and has led to over 400 publications and more than 100 pending or issued patents, many of which are licensed.
From 1978 to 1982, Cioffi worked as a modem designer at Bell Laboratories in New Jersey. While at Bell Laboratories, he also attended Stanford University, where he earned a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1984, under the supervision of Thomas Kailath.
In 1986, Cioffi began his teaching career as an assistant professor of electrical engineering at Stanford University. Cioffi supervised the Ph.D. programs of more than 70 students over the course of more than two decades. He and his students' research into discrete multitone modulation (DMT) became widely adopted in digital subscriber line(DSL) technology, used commonly for Internet access.
Then Cioffi Founded Amati Communications Corp, Hired some of his Students, one of them explained to me IN A PAPER the DMT Secret Sause, that made it Tower over AT&T's Cape Line Code, two weeks after I began Research into AMTX
From that moment I was Hooked on DMT !
I met Dr. Cioffi at NetworkWorld + InterOp (SuperComm) Convention in Las Vegas 1996, when he got presented a Fellow Award from the IEEE. I helped him Carry everything from Hall A way over to Hall C, where his was to give a Presentation on MultiMedia and BroadBand.
