my notes from confer call: - 5/5/99 - 10:05 - confer call -
going over the press release just put out
- in 7 years as ceo, fresh blood, to bring new ideas
- almost nothing from internet products; TabsWeb
- new names of customers: nortel - the co.; ntt - japan telecom; nippon telephone - ; Citrix - w/ international cos - software co; Merrill Lynch; none to large hotels;
- no recent - 4 or 5 companies beta testing
- projecting full yr for 1999:: profitable for 1999
- for 2000 - between 10 to 20 percent of sales
- Mr. Mer: own 70% of sub; makes one major shareholder; better if not one holder owns more than 50%
- mts needs to grow up in the product business
- believes shares are undervalued
- said if shares go up in value; and a buyer wants to pay full value; then they'd be open to an investment
- Avi: from Stuart Coleman:
- asking about Amir's background - the new ceo - 10 years younger; from industry; voicemail; very marketing oriented
- $224k cash provided by operating activities
- have $4.5 mill in bank & cash positive
- didn't see any revs from Lucent in Europe; but Lucent told mer; they'd buy $1.75 mill; maybe $800k within 1999
- expect to finish year in $14 mill in sales
- in following year, from Lucent, hard to say
- 1 17/32 to 23/32 - 0 vol - still
- saying Lucent actively visiting Mer & talking to Mer
- quotations have been given to Lucent
- r&d isn't going to come down
- increashing our gross profit
- maintain r&d; but increase sales; so % of r&d comes down
