KIDD...Your simplistic comparison of CGY to GKI as "pump and dump" is faulty...|
GKI soared to $19 on two factors...an AMEX-listing, and the FACT that Rod Canion (Compaq Computer-Founder) had signed on to run the ship.
GKI than tanked WHEN Rod Canion resigned after less than 6-months on the job. GKI continued to tank on margin-calls, and CONTINUED to tank when short-interest jumped in to take advantage of the aforementioned.
GKI's "run", and subsequent "fall", had nothing to due with "pump and dump". It dealt with cold, hard FACTS concerning "who" was (and was subsequently not) leading the company into the future. The "street" perceived and reacted accordingly.
