WWW taking toll on Simon Property Group Business.
Part of article from Barrons dated April 5th:
"The flip side to the explosion in Internet valuations has been weakness inindustry groups that are viewed as potential road kill for the giants of theWorld Wide Web.Traditional booksellers like Borders Group are the most obvious casualties. But the damage has spread to shopping-mall operators such as Simon Property Group, printers R.R. Donnelley & Sons and Bowne, and even drugstore chains like Walgreen. The newspaper industry also has suffered amid concern that younger people are getting more of their information from the Web and that advertising, especially high-margin classifieds, will migrate to the Internet."
