Berkeley Systems got much less than 40 millions$ funding which is the difference so it makes a lot of sense that 188.5 worth of stuff is still way to go.
But anyway, this minor impact was done and the naive un-intelligent investors sadly sold out at 12.5. The shaky hands deserve it anyway. IMO, FORE is a big bargain regardless of the issue. Their products is the best and ATM WAN segment is growing tremendously. Why would UUnet and Microsoft deploy FORE, because not only they've the only OC-48c speed but their performance blows away the competition, In fact CISCO ATM switches doesn't even come remotely close to FORE in performance such as SVC rate per second.
