Software tool developer Wind River Systems Inc. estimated late Friday that fourth quarter
revenues would total $37 million to $39 million, bringing fiscal year 1999 revenues to $128 million to $130 million.

Such revenues would yield fourth quarter earnings per share of $0.27 to $0.30, Wind River said. Fiscal year earnings per share would fall between $0.89 and
$0.92 if revenues targets are reached.

Wall Street expects the company to earn $0.29 a share in its fourth quarter and $0.91 for the year, according to First Call consensus estimates.

The company said the earnings per share estimates beat the year-ago numbers by 37 percent and 42 percent, respectively, excluding a one time charge in last year's
fourth quarter.

Wind River warned that it cannot be certain as to the results for its fourth quarter ending Jan. 31, 1999.

''While we cannot predict with any certainty whether our revenue will meet or exceed our expectations, we do anticipate another solid quarter of results and remain
confident as to our prospects for fiscal 2000,'' chief financial officer Richard Kraber said.

the warning is just typical statement companies put out.
WIND is in a fast grwoing business of RT-OS. The networking business is growing leasp and bounds and that area alone should benefit WIND in a big way. Last few days, the downside is likely from the fear of fever from PSFT. imo, wind is still pretty strong.
