The Herring: One criticism that is often raised is that Softbank is driving up prices in the Internet market. How would you respond to that?

Rieschel: I would respond that we have never set the price yet for a deal; it's been set by other investors or venture capitalists. Yahoo! is the investment that typically comes to mind. The offer price of the stock at the time we were talking was going to be in that range anyway. What we did was give them a very secure feeling that a very large percentage of the company was going to be stable for a number of years. That's why Yahoo!'s stock has maintained its value. People understand that we're there to help them be successful in a big way, not just in the U.S. but in Japan, as well. We're not going to flip.
