uniView Set-Top Boxes to be Packaged With Tandberg Vision 2000
Video Conferencing Systems; Agreement Brings Internet Access to
the Boardroom
uniView Technologies Corp. (Nasdaq:UVEW) has agreed to supply its state-of-the-art convergence product to NuVision Technologies, Inc. in an effort to integrate Internet access into boardrooms across America. Under the agreement, uniView's innovative set-top boxes and Internet service will be bundled with the Tandberg video conferencing systems distributed by NuVision.
The agreement calls for the initial purchase of 1,000 uniView(tm) set-top boxes by NuVision, with plans to acquire 11,000 additional units over the next 18 months. In addition, uniView Technologies will supply its uniView Xpressway(tm) Internet service and customer support to NuVision's customers who purchase the bundled leading-edge systems.

The innovative uniView set-top box delivers an array of information, communication, entertainment and education via the television. In addition to surfing the Net, business-friendly applications of the uniView box include a full-duplex speakerphone, e-mail and fax capabilities, and, with the unit's serial port, the ability to print results of Internet research and on-line communications. In addition, an interactive organizer provides detailed information for personal contacts, with the ability to directly call, e-mail, fax or access a website from the organizer's pages with the touch of a button.

Tandberg's Vision 2000, distributed in the U.S. by NuVision, offers superior quality audio and video in a fully featured rollabout unit. Incorporating plug-and-play technology, the system can be effortlessly moved within the office environment. With operating speeds of 56 kbps - 384 kbps, the Vision 2000 is an ideal choice for mid to large group applications and is available with single or dual monitors in 27" or 32" versions. The Vision 2000 is also compatible with external network interfaces, such as leased line or ISDN and allows on-the-fly network selection without the need to reboot or reconfigure the system. Tandberg is one of the world's largest manufacturers of video conferencing equipment.
