A couple of buddies and I were on motorcycles in Jasper National Park in late August about 40 years ago. It was late afternoon when it started to snow. I asked a park ranger if he knew anything about the upcoming weather (pre-internet & smart phone). He said, he'd keep moving south, that this looked like it would be a major early storm... we wound up riding in snow all the way to Lake Louise...it was brutal, but we made it.
