The piece was also darkly humorous.

It suggests that data is at such a premium in DC that some journos monitor pizza deliveries to the Pentagon and to the WH for clues as to upcoming crises.

I don’t believe it (the WH has a huge kitchen and I’m sure the Pentagon has to keep one going 24/7) but it is a good story anyway.
