Why it is illogical to be disappointed.
I've been at the beach in NC for the past week. In the mornings I read Agoracom comments before going out for a walk. As always, many of the comments provide valuable information, which I truely appreciate. Thank you.
While I understand some of the frustration from an emotional perspective, to me the frustrated comments are illogical. I'm not advocating for cutting anyone off, deleting their posts, or belittling thier point of view, but I'd like offer a rebuttal.
As succinctly as possible, the points below support my belief that the disappointment being expressed is wrong-minded:
- POET is a pre-rev company.
- POET has stated that there will be "some" revenue this year, but that significant revenue will not come until next year.
- POET's GTM strategy is to provide technology to other companies (partners) who use the technology in solutions they deliver to thier customers. This requires significant time for testing and vaidation (by POET, by the partners, and then by the end customers)
- Based on news releases and exec comments, we know that POET's solutions have already passed internal testing and validation from partners, and we have a strong belief that pluggable solutions from Luxshare, Foxconn, and Lessengers are already going through business cycle validation at customer sites. In addition, Adtran has demonstrated the Micro Mux Quattro at OFC and their representatives have stated that end customers are now validating this tech. And, Mitsubishi demonstrated an 800G pluggable with POET and the Mistubishi ELM's at OFC. They have very large customers who they will sell this to - AFTER a module manufacturer is chosen and they deliver solutions to customers for validation.
So, we are currently in a period of time that requires paitience. Sure, we'd like to get an update from OFC - hopefully telling us that major new partnerships were established. Regardless, based on everything we know today, it is not logical to expect a major announcement about orders/revenue.
I replied to a few people on PM that my focus is on 1H '26. I believe that POET will report significant revenue by that time and the sp will increase. I don't know if I'm going to earn a 10X return or not, but if i gain 25% in a year it'll still be a better investment than most others.
I'm not disappointed. I'm excited. And, I'm ready to go walk on the beach.
Don't worry. Be happy. |
