Slow Horses is a sketchy version of the books, which are fairly dense and very British. Having read the books, increased my appreciation of the TV series, but it is an acquired taste. Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas are quite good at filling the shoes of the characters in the book. We liked season one of Bad Sisters, with season two the farcical went off the rails.
