Pager Blasts Humiliated Hezbollah, but They Won't Win Any Wars for Israel
Hezbollah's weakness was exposed by the simultaneous attack on thousands of pagers and its leaders were humiliated – allegedly by Israel. Such things do not usually go unanswered in the Middle East ¦ Meanwhile, negotiations between Netanyahu and Sa'ar have been put on ice and it's possible that the prime minister has already reaped the political dividend without even without realizing it

It appears that someone succeeded in penetrating Hezbollah's secret communications network and took advantage of a window of opportunity to install remote-controlled explosive devices into the communications gear that was distributed to members.

There are still old photos of NSA employees swapping out parts in computers and communications equipment at the package delivery offices. The packages of pagers were probably intercepted en route to Lebanon.

Also:

The decision to carry out the Israeli-attributed pager attack was "imposed" on Israel following an intelligence breach that involved two Hezbollah operatives who discovered that the devices had been tampered with, high-level regional intelligence sources told Al-Monitor on Wednesday.
