Because Starlink is clueless, they'll have to sell those devices too cheaply, to people willing to spend $150 per month, every month, using it or not.
If Starlink understood pricing, supply and demand, they could sell those cute little devices in the hundreds of millions, starting at probably $2000, with top bidders getting the first ones to enjoy free megabytes while Starlink spectrum gradually fills.
As production of devices increases,, prices of devices would reduce and megabyte prices would gradually increase, with more satellites added to increase capacity.
It'll be great when travelling in an airliner, or on a boat out on the ocean, or on a camel in the desert, includes cheap fast cyberspace. It has taken two decades too long but Globalstar was too dopey to do it. Starlink seems unable to figure it out either. But at least their engineering people seem to be able to make satellites that don't conk out soon after starting service. And they don't crash a dozen during launch.
