I'm just finishing staining my deck and having some lunch so I figured I'd vent for a minute. Back in September I decided to spend some of the profits of SOXL to built an Intel I9 computer with an MSI motherboard and the new Intel arc a750 video card. All was working OK though it did seem more sluggish than my work AMD ryzen 7 computer. Out of no where every now and then the monitor would go blank for a few seconds and come back on so I'm thinking it may have been the DVI cable being too long as it's 15 feet from the computer so I bought another one but this time HDMI. Still on occasion the screen would go blank. I checked the bios for temps and they were within normal range of 35-40 C. I woke up the other morning to use the I-9 and it was dead. Not what I really wanted to do that morning being as I had 4 yards to mow but figured a quick check wouldn't take long so I pulled it apart checking wires, power button, battery, resetting the video card and still nothing. I'm thinking SI Ron jinxed me when he mentioned checking the thermal paste recently but like I mentioned no heat issues. So I called up Jeff Bezos and said you guys sold me some faulty computer components, not looking for you to replace but can you get me a new Asus motherboard, Intel I9 CPU and some DDR 5, they said sure it will be there tomorrow. It was at my door step before I finished my coffee the next morning. I pulled everything out of the old computer case reusing it and the video card. Put everything together and pressed the button and it was working, just needed to call Bill Gates telling him that he has more money than God would he mind transferring over my old Windows 10 license. He said sure, your a good customer just deactivate the old computer on the Microsoft site so OS is installed and everything is running, it's zippier than the previous I-9 but last night I'm watching a movie (Nepoleon) and the screen went blank again for a few seconds so now I'm thinking the video card must have a problem. This new Intel I9 has video capabilities so I switched from the Intel Arc card to the on board video and after a quick bios adjustment it's working just fine. I guess time will tell if it was the card but my bad...I never registered the MSI motherboard or Intel I-9 and video card so I'm SOL on those, lesson learned.
