Is it possilbe to use CPI to project POS? I made the chart below and followed it for a few months. The probability looks better abd better. Hope it is useful to everyone.
You can see CPI and POS have been roughly in cync during 2004 and 2010, even during the great financial meltdown. After Fed's heavy injection of QE money and later interest rate manipulation the POS has been out of whack for 14 years. It seems now the lost connection between CPI and POS are gradually found each other. But, we have to wait and see patiently. The projection of POS will be in the ballpark of $60 within a year or two and could go higher if momtum takes over.
