Comment On Exponential Trend Analysis

As a former actuary, doing exponential trend analysis is fundamental. But we generally take the short-cut of doing linear regression (least squares minimization) on the logs of the data versus doing actual exponential regression (least squares minimization) on the actual data. As the example below shows, this is a very good approximation. Actuaries Count!
